Betty L. Farley, 90, of Pittsburg, passed away at 12:22 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021.
She was born August 19, 1930, at Ft. Scott, KS, the daughter of James Frank and Vetra Belle (Sweet) Wilson.
On September 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to James L. Farley at Holton, KS. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1990.
Mrs. Farley worked as a Nurse's Assistant for Dr. Leffler and also worked at the Hotel Besse, Landmark and Newman's Department Store.
Membership was held in The Presbyterian Church, Pittsburg. Known as "Grandma Betty" by many, she was very active with the grandkid's activities and sporting events even known as "Coach". She also enjoyed traveling and gathering at her lake house on Grand Lake with family.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Malle and her husband, Ed of Pittsburg and Cathy Burns and her husband, Tom of Pittsburg , three grandchildren, Ryan Malle, Stacy Osterthun (Matt) and Aaron Burns (Hannah), and two great grandchildren, Ryker Osterthun and Ryden Osterthun and one sister, Barbara,.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, JoAnn and Dorothy.
A private family memorial service for Mrs. Farley will be held at a later date at the Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg. The family suggests memorials to the James L. and Betty L. Farley Scholarship Fund at Pittsburg State University and/or Harry Hynes Hospice. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
