Robert E. Short, 70, of Frontenac, passed away at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.
He was born May 8, 1950, at Pittsburg, KS, the son of John Samuel and Alma (Stotts) Short. He attended local schools and graduated from Frontenac High School in 1969.
On April 18, 1970, he was united in marriage to Marilyn R. Walker at Pittsburg, KS. She survives of the home in Frontenac.
Mr. Short worked at Ball Supply and McNally's before co-owning/operating Short's Trash Service before his retirement in 2016.
Membership was held in the Opolis Methodist Church. He also served on the Frontenac City Council for several years. He also dearly loved his family and friends
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Adam Short of Frontenac, one daughter, Heidi Mitchell (Montae) of Frontenac, one sister, Carol Maransani (Charley) of Pittsburg, five grandchildren, Myca Sellers (Robert), Kyler Short, McKaleigh Rourke (Eric), Kaden Short and Dionte Short, and three great grandchildren, Castiel Sellers, Salem Sellers and Theodore Rourke.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Tony Short, and brother, Jack Short.
A service for Mr. Short is set for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg with Pastor Dorcia Johnson officiating. The service will be live streamed through Mr. Short's obituary page on the Brenner Mortuary web page. Burial will follow in the Frontenac City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Opolis Methodist Church.
