Allen Martin Zook

Allen Martin Zook, 79, of Pittsburg, passed away at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021.

            He was born June 27, 1942, at Latrobe, PA, the son of Allen I. and Helen (Martino) Zook.

            Mr. Zook served in the United States Navy during Vietnam before being Honorably Discharged.

            On January 1, 1961, he was united in marriage to Helen Cloud at Miami, OK.  She preceded him in death on February 5, 1997.

            Mr. Zook worked as a Federal Air Traffic Controller before his retirement.

            Membership was held in the American Legion and VFW.

            He is survived by one son, Martin A. Zook of Las Vegas, NV, two daughters, Kathy D. Skidmore (Joey) of Pittsburg, KS, and Suzy K. Chatman (Leslie) of Pittsburg, KS, three brothers, Frederick Zook of Tacoma, WA, Carl Zook of Tacoma, WA, and Dennis Zook of Seattle, WA, five grandchildren, Natalie Gabler (Keith), Logan Chatman, Sophie Bauder (Alek), Lillie Chatman and Brian Chatman and three great-grandchildren, Tavian Leon, Kaison Bauder and Ernestine Bauder.

            In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Zook.  

            A graveside service for Mr. Zook is set for 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg, with Reverend Jim Sukraw officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the Brenner Mortuary.  Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
