Charles "Chuck" Hosman Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Lee Hosman, Jr., 83, of Pittsburg, passed away at 10:43 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg.

He was born on December 30, 1942, in Pittsburg, the son of Charles Lee, Sr. and Cleo D. (Radford) Hosman. Chuck attended and graduated from Pittsburg High School and later from Pittsburg State University.

Chuck was a realtor for over 50 years. He started selling real estate for Dale Conner. In 1978, he started his own real estate agency, Heritage Agency, as the owner and operator until 2009, when he merged with Jones Realty, becoming Jones Heritage Realty. He was also a state certified general appraiser.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years, retiring as a Sergeant.

Chuck met Carol Garrison in 1975 which sparked a lifelong relationship. They finally made it official and were married on December 13, 2014.

Chuck was always very active in the community, where he served on the Pittsburg State University Board of Trustees, Mt. Carmel Board of Directors, YMCA Board, where he was a past president, Board of Realtors, where he was a past president, RLF Board,  Marvin Armstrong Masonic Lodge #187, York Rite Bodies, Mirza Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters Court 95, and a former member of the Pittsburg Noon Rotary

Survivors include his wife, Carol Garrison Hosman of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Ron Garrison (Karen); a niece and nephew; great nieces and nephews; and several cousins, including Diane Sailsbury of Pittsburg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sr., his mother, Cleo D. Claunch and his stepfather, Donald Claunch.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday (May 2) at the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 pm, noon, in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, with Pastor Jim Sukraw officiating. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Transportation Fund and can be left in care of Brenner Mortuary.  Friends and family may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.  Services are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E.
