Charlotte A. Purdy, 83, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on January 05, 2023, at her home in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Charlotte was born on November 7, 1939 to Wilford and Dorothy (Ashmore) Melton at Pittsburg, KS. She graduated from Crawford Community High School in Cherokee. On December 26, 1962 she was united in marriage to Larry Purdy at the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2017. Charlotte worked for Mt Carmel Hospital and Girard Hospital in dietary services for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Lynn Orlovetz of the home and Christy Jo Allen and her husband, Rick L. of Girard; two brothers, Larry Melton (Betty Jo) of Baxter Springs and Lloyd Melton of Frontenac; and a sister, and Sharon Cleffman of Pittsburg; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Cindy Lou Purdy and Lisa Ann Purdy; and a sister, Charlene Kay Endicott.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday (Jan. 9) at the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Online condolences may also be left at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.
