Connie Arlene (Edwards) Bunney

Connie Arlene Bunney, 74, of Girard, Kansas, passed away on June 29, 2021, at Girard Medical Center in Girard.

Connie was born on September 12, 1946, in Mindenmines, Missouri to Erwin Lee and Flossie Emma (Avery) Edwards. She grew up and attended school in Minden. Pittsburg, Kansas was her home most of her adult life.

Connie worked in the kitchen of several nursing homes in Pittsburg and various other jobs over the years. She really liked caring for children and older adults. In her free time she loved to crochet and made many blankets for family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Vickie Splitter and husband Willie of Liberal, Missouri; Jeff Yeokum of Frontenac, Kansas; Fred Bunney and wife Johnnie of Frontenac; Calvin Bunney and wife Janelle of Liberal; and Tina Hill of Girard; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Vivian, brothers Donald, Leonard, Bob, and Jack.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 2:30 pm at the Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm at Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, KS. Memorial donations can be made to the Connie Bunney Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
