Darlene D. (Cabodie) Johnson

Darlene D. Johnson, 79, of Girard, KS, passed away at 7:22 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.

            She was born September 10, 1941, at Frontenac, KS, the daughter of Frank and Rena Ann (Righi) Cabodie.

            On May 22, 1964, she was united in marriage to Jimmy L. Johnson at Pittsburg.  He survives of the home, Girard.

            Mrs. Johnson worked as a clerk for the County Courthouse in Girard for several years before her retirement.

            Membership was held in the TOPS KS 0599.  She was a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Pittsburg.

            In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Brenda Spurling (Terry) of Frontenac, KS, Michelle Johnson (John) of Frontenac, KS, one brother, Frank Cabodie of Ferndale, WA, two sisters, Gloria Nahon of Frontenac, KS, and Bonnie Beitzinger of Pittsburg, KS, and four grandchildren, Ethan Spurling (Andrea), Eli Spurling, Ty Spurling and Tabor Spurling (Gwen).

            She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Cabodie.

            A service for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, with Reverend Jim Sukraw officiating.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorials to the Lupus Foundation.  These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS  66762.  Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary.
