Dennis Patrick Ryan, 67, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on July 14, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas, surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 13, 1955, to James Edward and Rosemary (Simoncic) Ryan in Coronado, CA at the Coronado Naval Base. On July 1, 1988, he was united in marriage to Maggie (Costantini) McNeil. She survives of the home.
Dennis attended St. Mary's Grade School and Colgan High School, graduating in 1973. After high school Dennis worked for Ryan's Drive Thru Cleaners in Pittsburg and then moved to Dallas, TX, and worked in the dry cleaning business. He returned to Pittsburg in 1987 to work in the leather cleaning business with his father. In 1999 he and his wife purchased Comet Cleaners of Joplin and Miami. Over the next 20 years he opened an additional 4 stores and built an expansive dry cleaning plant. They sold the business in 2019 and retired. He was an avid golfer and a 35 year member of Crestwood Country Club. He loved watching sports, especially the Cowboys, Chiefs and Tiger Woods.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Maggie Ryan, of the home; his children, Jenelle (Mick) Marietta of Pittsburg; Kristen (Walker) Fitts of Overland Park, KS; and Ryan D. McNeil of Orlando, FL; grandchildren Madison Marietta, Kash Marietta, and Banks Marietta of Pittsburg; Alec Fitts and Reagan Fitts of Overland Park, KS; brothers Lonnie (Linda) Ryan of Pittsburg; James Timothy (Mary) Ryan of Overland Park, KS, and Jon (Cindy) Ryan of Overland Park, KS; nieces Courtney Harmon, Dr. Alana Ryan, Ashley Davis, Amanda Underwood, Jillian Scheuerman, Kacie Ryan, Christy Hays, and AnnDee Peterson; nephews Chris Ryan, Shaun Ryan, James Ryan, Derek Ryan; Drew Ryan; and Tyler Costantini; and a brother-in-law Ray Costantini, and former sister in law Staci Youngwirth. He is also survived by Bailey, the best dog in the world.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law Jeannie Costantini.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, July 18th, 2022, at 1:30 PM in the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Andrew Labenz as Celebrant. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17th, 2022, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Brenner Mortuary. Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, S.E.K. Humane Society, or the Via Christi Cancer Center. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
