Frances "Louise" Ferraro, 88, of Columbus, KS, passed away on March 31, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Louise was born on June 23, 1937, to Joe and Mildred (Scowden) Grant at 42 Camp Cherokee County, Kansas. She attended Skidmore Elementary School and graduated from Columbus High School. She married James Ferraro on October 19, 1957, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1992.
Louise worked at the Cherokee County Courthouse, Fiedlers Shoe Store, and Charles IGA.
She loved her faith and was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Columbus, KS. Before computers she prepared the church bulletin for a number of years. Louise loved her yard and growing flowers and trees. She loved nature. Louise loved her home and always provided a huge welcome to everyone who visited her.
She is survived by a son, James Ferraro (Lori) of Pittsburg, KS; a daughter, Kathy Ferraro of Pittsburg, KS; two grandchildren, Ben Ferraro and Annisa Catron; and one great-grandchild, Enzo Ferraro; Gary and LuAnne Pugh and Amy Soper, who helped provide for her care, along with a number of her close friends who were family to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Ferraro, a brother, Dan Grant and sister, Doris Grant.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 in the St. Bridget's Catholic Church with Father Larry Parker as celebrant. Burial will follow at St Bridget's Cemetery. The family suggest memorials to St. Rose Catholic Church. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary 114 E 4th St. Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary.
