George "Toby" Leroy Garner

George Leroy “Toby” Garner, 78, of Pittsburg, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor.

He was born on October 17, 1947, in Pittsburg, the son of Richard and Juanita (Willis) Garner. He was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg.

In November 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Deckard at Girard, Kansas. She preceded him in death in 2003.

George worked as a grounds keeper at Pittsburg State University for 23 years, retiring in 2010.

He is survived by a companion, Cheryl Wallace of Parsons, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 25) at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Pastor Marvin Boore officiating.
