Gerald Theodore Waggoner II, 76, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on September 14, 2022, at Columbus, Kansas.
Gerald was born on September 14, 1946 to Gerald and Cecilia G. (Ensman) Waggoner in Pittsburg, Kansas. Jerry graduated in 1973 from Pittsburg State University with a degree in Physical Education. He married Ardith Mitchelson and had two children, they later divorced. Jerry loved to go hiking and the outdoors. In recent years, he has enjoyed taking care of his cats. He was on the PSU School of Nursing advisory board. He also loved visiting his two sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons, Patrick J. Waggoner of St. Louis, MO; Eric A. Waggoner (Kelly) of Bentonville, AR; three grandchildren, Braden Waggoner, Tanner Waggoner, and Jalaine Waggoner. He is also survived by his bonus children, Neely Evans (Phil), Jamie Purdon (Jeff), Reed Robinson; and additional grandchildren, Corbin Hamilton (Georgie), Allie Weir (Derrick) and Garrett Evans, Blaike Johnson, Brady Dulin (Shaina), Levi Burks, and Jaeden Dickerson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Patricia Brandon, and his fiancé, Jolene Zacarello-Robinson.
A Memorial Service will be on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
