Harold Hugene "Gene" Boswell, 85, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on October 29, 2022, at his home in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Gene was born on July 30, 1937, to Harry Harrold and Jane (Regard) Boswell in Pittsburg, KS. He attended Pittsburg Schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School. On February 21, 1956 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a strategic air command mechanic. He was honorably discharged on February 20, 1960. On August 20, 1960, he was united in marriage to Norma J Beltram at the Arma Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2018. Mr. Boswell worked for McNally’s Manufacturing for many years. He was also involved with the Mirza Shrine and was on the Provost Guard.
He is survived by two sons, Scott Boswell of Pittsburg and Kevin Boswell of Pittsburg; a brother-in-law, Larry (Jan) Beltram; sister-in-law, Emma Jo Beltram; a grandson, Ryan Boswell; a great-granddaughter, Brielle Boswell; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters, Mardelle Wray and Shirley Lane.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday (Nov. 3) at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be given to the Shriner’s Transportation Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
