Jewell Elaine Turner

Jewell Elaine Turner of Pittsburg KS passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on October 12, 2022.


She was born on November 14, 1935, to Harold and Erma Mary (Citron) Sturgeon in Pittsburg.


Jewell was a graduate of Pittsburg High School. She worked for Boeing in Wichita and then as secretary for Westside Elementary School in Pittsburg. Jewell also volunteered as a poll worker for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church.


She was proceeded in death by both parents, her former husband Jimmie Turner with whom she had 3 children, her long time companion Gene Garman, her son Bruce Turner, and her grandson Kip Turner.


Survivors include her sister Rochelle Wilson of Manhattan, KS; son Greg Turner and wife of Tulsa, daughter Denise Cannizzo and husband of Fort Worth, daughter-in-law Bonnie Turner of Joplin; grandchildren Brad Turner and Bethany Turner, and 3 great-grandchildren. And many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services: Wednesday October 19, 2022 10:00am at Brenner Mortuary with private graveside to follow
