Jo Ann Ramage, 72, of Pittsburg, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Via Christi Hospital.
She was born January 16, 1948 in Pittsburg, Kansas to William M. and Mable Ruth (Slankard) Ramage, and was a lifetime Pittsburg resident. She attended George E. Nettels Grade School, graduated from College High School and held an Associate Degree in Business Administration from the Kansas State College of Pittsburg.
She worked in the Trust Department of the First State Bank and Trust Company from 1968-1974; Mt. Carmel Medical Center Business Office from 1978-1989; and the Pittsburg State University Physical Plant from 1989 until her retirement June 1, 2011.
Baptized in the South Broadway Baptist Church, she remained an active member most of her life. Through the years, she held various church offices, including Financial Secretary, Secretary of the Board of Christian Education, Sunday School Secretary, Diaconate member, as well as Church Secretary during her college years. Most recently, she was very involved in the Leadership Board at South Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Nancy R. Seal and her husband, John of Pittsburg; a nephew, Jason Seal and his wife, Katie of Olathe, Kansas; and two nieces, Amanda Davis and her husband, Jeff of Pea Ridge, Arkansas and Rachel Coles and her husband, Ryan of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Considered a second mother by her nieces and nephew, her family was her joy. Grand-nephews and grand-nieces added another generation of love to her life. Cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, William M. Ramage on August 17, 1995, her mother, Mable Ruth Black on June 22, 2015 and her brother, William M. Ramage, Jr on August 3, 2015.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (Dec. 21) at the South Broadway Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brenner Mortuary. In respect for the family, we are asking that everyone practice public safety by wearing a mask and social distancing.
