Joanne Louise (Stephenson) Griglione

Joanne Louise Griglione, 88, of Frontenac, passed away at 9:09 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Medicalodge of Frontenac.

She was born March 12, 1935 at Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Swisher) Stephenson, one of triplet girls. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and Noel, Missouri.

On March 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Robert Griglione in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2009.

Mrs. Griglione was a school bus driver in Grandview, Missouri for twenty-three years and later for Frontenac School District for 2 years. She later worked in shipping at Bowlus School Supply.

She was a former member of the Unity Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She also was a member of the Little Balkans Quilt Guild.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Griglione of Frontenac, Kansas; a sister, Jeanne Valentine of Kansas City, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Joyce Stephenson, a brother, Earl Leroy Stephenson and her husband, Bob.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Frontenac with Rev. Mark Chambers officiating. Memorials may be given in her memory to the donor’s choice.  These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS  66762.  Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary.
