John William "Bill" Price, 85, of Frontenac, KS passed away at 10:43 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home.
He was born June 6, 1935, at Cockerill, KS to James Francis and Margaret (Scheffer) Price.
On October 12, 1956, he was united in marriage to Wilma Irene Swift. They celebrated 63 years of marriage, she survives at the home.
Mr. Price was a 1953 graduate from Frontenac High School. He served six years in the United States Army Reserves from 1958-1964. He served six-months basic training with the Company C 5th Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Mr. Price worked for Kansas City Southern Railroad and for Parsons Ammunition Plant. In 1956, Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for KG&E for 36 years. He worked for both Pittsburg and Fort Scott divisions retiring from Fort Scott on April 30, 1992. Besides all of his years of hard work, he was a dedicated and selfless husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather always putting his family before himself.
Mr. Price was baptized in the Christian faith and was a member of Countryside Christian Church. Other memberships include the Pittsburg Masonic Lodge No. 187 and an honorary member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
In addition to his wife Wilma, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Lynn Price of Augusta, KS, and Tina Irene Pinneo of Olathe, KS; a grandson, Tyler Pinneo and his wife Melissa Henderson; two granddaughters, Teryn Pinneo and Jesica Fitzwilliams and her husband Peter; two great-grandchildren Bria and Quincy Fitzwilliams, a beloved niece, Donna Bertoncino and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Robert Price, three sisters, Alice Marie Lobile, Delores Maxine Lechien and Peggy Jean Price.
A service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June13, 2020, at the Brenner Mortuary with Dan Muter officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of the service. The service will be live streamed on our website (brennermortuary.com) through Mr. Price’s obituary page at 11:00 A.M.
