Kenneth Wayne Bishop, 82, passed away on November 19, 2020, at his home in Pittsburg, KS.
He was born on February 18, 1938, to Herbert(Bert) and Rose (Guion) Bishop in Buffalo, KS. Ken attended Neodesha High School and Fredonia High School and graduated from Yates Center High School. He also attended Pittsburg State University.
In 1959, he volunteered for the draft and was stationed for two years in Giessen, Germany, with the U.S. Army, 82 Artillery Battalion.
On May 26, 1967, he married Marilyn Graham at the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia. He worked as a designer and project manager for M.E.C in Neodesha; Strearns Roger Engineering in Denver, Colorado; McNally's in Pittsburg and Midwest Conveyors in Kansas City. Ken wan an accomplished artist and designed six beautiful homes in the Pittsburg area.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Bishop of Pittsburg, KS; a son, Jon Bishop (Mary);a daughter, Brooke Spillman; grandchildren, Bodee Guion-Hughes, Luke Spillman, Maddie Bishop, Brandon Bishop, William Bishop and bonus grandson, Robert Phillips; brothers, Floyd (Jan) Bishop of Neodesha and Jim (Judy) Bishop of Perry; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Bob (Marilyn) Graham of Fredonia and Jon (Dr. Terre) Graham of Bel Aire, KS, and sister-in-law, Dr. Gloria (Pat) Flynn of Pittsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy, Norma, Betty, and Lois; brother, Herbert, Jr.
Services are not planned at this time due to Covid19, but will be announced at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to the Pittsburg USD #250 Educational Foundation.
