Kenneth Rippel Obituary

Kenneth Donald Rippel, 99, of Weir, KS, passed away on January 27, 2021, at his home.

Kenneth was born on September 20, 1921, to William and Lena (Calhoon) Rippel at Lake Lillian, Minn. Later his family moved to Vinton, Iowa. As a young man in his 30's he and his older sister, Christina (Rippel) Harshfield moved to the Pittsburg area in 1954. He purchased over 400 acres, raised his two sons and at retirement was farming around 700 acres. His sister married and moved to McCune, KS.

On September 6, 1993, he married Beatrice Rippel. She survives of the home.

Kenneth, in addition to being a lifetime farmer and rancher, was the community mechanic, usually just charging neighbors for parts only. Kenneth also had a Massey Ferguson Dealership for a few years in Pittsburg, KS. He loved to polka he also enjoyed helping with 4-H booths when his kids were young and in later years he adored his two cats Wiskers and Snoopy. He enjoyed church dinners and the community get togethers. Kenneth and Bea loved to travel and did over most of the U S.

In addition to his wife Beatrice, he is survived by two sons, Ronnie Rippel and his wife Angie of Scammon, KS, and Donald Rippel of Pittsburg, KS; two step-sons, Larry Marshall of McCune, KS, and Roger Marshall of Weir, KS; four grandchildren, Kenneth C. Rippel and his wife Kristy, Neal D. Rippel and his wife Jennifer, William D. Rippel, and Wade A. Rippel and his wife Rachel; six great-grandchildren, Oliver, Sylas, Reagen, Kinsley, Sloane, and Lennex.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Bruce Rippel, Merle Rippel, Christena Harshfield, and Margaret Altmansofer, and a step-son, Gary Marshall.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 from 5:00pm - 7:00 pm at Brenner Mortuary. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 4th, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Brenner Mortuary with Pastor Lindsey Clarke and Kenny Rippel conducting services. Burial will take place at Crocker Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Angels Among Us. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
