Lewis Gale Holtz, 94, of Frontenac, KS, passed away the morning of Thursday, December 25, 2025 at the Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, KS. He was born February 6, 1931 to Luther and Lurene (Helvey) Holtz in Powell, NE.
Lewis served in the U.S. Navy from January 6, 1951 until November 5, 1954 when he was honorably discharged. On November 7, 1954, Lewis married Margie “Marie” Brickhouse in Elizabeth City, NC. They spent 71 wonderful years together. Lewis worked for Last-Joplin Supply as an electrical wholesaler for 41 years before retiring in 1995. Both Lewis and Marie attended South Broadway Baptist Church.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Margie “Marie” Holtz; three daughters, Teri (Alan) Bozich of Arma, KS; Patricia (Dennis) Hoffman of Parsons, KS; and Vicki Boyd of Odessa, MO; a son, Randy Holtz of Pittsburg, KS; five grandchildren, Brandon Myers, Billy Smith Jr., Christopher Holtz, Holly Norman, and Mika Milholland; and five great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Allison Norman, James and Luke Milholland, and Barrett Holtz. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick Holtz, Donald Holtz, and David Holtz; and one sister, Joyce Burbridge.
Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at the Fort Scott National Cemetery with Reverend Daniel Moss officiating.
