Lucinda Katherine (Wise) Fryer

Lucinda Katherine Fryer, 63, of Pittsburg, Kansas, went to be with the Lord at 11:47 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at her home.

She was born November 10, 1959 at Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Bryan Leon and Katherine Lucine (Lombard) Wise. She graduated from Dighton High School in 1977. Lucinda graduated in 1983 from Oklahoma Baptist College and Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in Music Education and then received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Psychology from Tennessee Temple University.

On December 22, 1986, she was united in marriage to Jim Fryer at Quenemo, Kansas.

Lucinda has always had the role of Pastor’s wife.  In addition to being a Pastor’s wife, she taught youth in Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, Florida, Kansas and Oklahoma for 20 years. She and Pastor Fryer were Foster Parents to over 200 youth for six years and she taught piano lessons for 3 years.

In everything she did, it was guided with love and care for each individual youth. Every youth she ministered too was bettered by her love and care.

Membership was held in the Independent Bible Baptist Church of Pittsburg, where she taught Sunday school, played the piano and served as Choir Mistress.

Survivors include her husband, Pastor Jim Fryer of the home; a daughter, Faith of the home; a brother, Bryan Wise.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Independent Bible Baptist Church.  A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Independent Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Fryer officiating. The funeral for Lucinda will be livestreamed on her obituary page at www.brennermortuary.com. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Brenner Mortuary to sign the register book. In lieu of flowers, it has been requested that a memorial be given to Independent Bible Baptist Church Christmas Shoebox ministry.  These may be left or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
