Maria del Rosario Castaneda

Maria del Rosario Castaneda, 66, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on November 23, 2024, at her home in Pittsburg, Kansas. Maria was born on June 23, 1958 to Asuncion Ornelas Esparza and Andrea de Luna Cansino in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She married Javier Castaneda Castillo on December 30, 1977, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2020. Membership was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.


She is survived by her six children, a son, Francisco Javier Castaneda (Eunice Castaneda Rivera) and their children, Yoselyn, Francisco and Mia; a daughter, Maria Bocanegra (Gerson) and their children, Lesly, Daniel, and Sophia; a son, Andres Castaneda (Hannah Castaneda Salas) and their children, Citlali, Elias, Camila, and Xavier; a son, Jesus Castaneda (Priscila Gutierrez) their children, Adrian and Lourdes; a son, Daniel Castaneda (Karina Castaneda (Rodriguez) and their children, Ricardo, Daniel, Diego, Kailey, Adriana, and Leo; and a daughter, Pilar Mendez (Ervin) their children, David, Esvin, Eva, and Analy.


The Parrish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM, Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Brenner Mortuary followed by a visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2024, with Father Jorge Lopez as Celebrant. The family suggest memorial be made to the family to help with final expenses.
