Marvin Wayne Boor, 65, died at his home in Cherokee, KS, March 20, 2021, following various illnesses.
He was born in Joplin, MO on December 15, 1955. Marvin graduated from McCune KS High School in 1973 where he excelled playing basketball. Most of his life he worked as a truck driver prior to becoming disabled. He has been remembered by employers as hardworking, and by family and friends for his attempts at humor.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Marjorie Boor and an infant daughter, Andrea Boor.
Marvin is survived by his son, Gabe Shiverdecker of Girard, KS and grandchildren Lane Edson, Rob Edson, Elijah Shiverdecker, and Ian Shiverdecker. Surviving siblings are Judith Risley (spouse Wiley Risley) Edmond, OK,; Harlan Boor (spouse Darlene Boor) iWittman, AZ; Catherine Warring (spouse Don Warring) Paola, KS; Melvin Boor, Wittman, AZ), and Mari Tonn (spouse Mark Kuhn) in Richmond, VA. Other survivors are nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews and several first cousins.
Memorial celebrations for friends and family will be held privately. Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.

April 1, 2021 11:04 PMI remember playing Farkle and working a crossword puzzle once with Marvin and my neighbor's at my neighbor's place. He had a funny sense of humor and a fast wit about him. Rest peacefully, Marvin.

March 29, 2021 9:20 PMI am truly saddened by the loss of Marvin. My heartfelt condolences go out to Marvin’s family. I will hold many fond memories of our childhood as neighbors and classmates. I am looking forward to our 50th class reunion fall of 2023 and Marvin will be missed.
