Mary Ann Lusk, 70, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on February 07, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Mary was born on October 17, 1951, to Edwin and Emma (Caldweller) Lusk in Rolla, MO. Mary had a love of red purses, having her nails done, getting a soda, and spending time with the girls. She would always say she loved to “feel like a lady”. She also loved to go to the Casino and go shopping or out to eat with her friends. Mary was loved by many.
Mary worked at New Horizons sheltered workshop until 7/28/2008. Mary then worked at Extremely Outrageous Creations (EOC) making jewelry until retiring. Mary was a Special Olympics athlete for 40 years winning many medals and awards. Mary loved to go on vacations to Branson, St. Louis, Texas, and even a cruise to Mexico.
She is survived by a sister, Kathleen Braden, and two half-brothers, Larry Lusk and Ron Lusk.
She was preceded in death by her father Edwin Lusk and her mother Emma Lusk.
In addition to Mary’s birth family, Mary is survived by her “New Hope Family” and Guardian who have known her and loved her for many years. Mary had a special attachment to her preferred staff, Leslie Neal. They were the best of friends and did many things together. Mary especially enjoyed going with Leslie to her family home for dinners. Not a day went by that Mary did not bring a smile to someone’s face.
