MaryAnn Jones Obituary
MaryAnn Jones, 84, of Cherokee, Kansas, passed away on December 3, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.
MaryAnn was born on December 6, 1937 to Wayman and Mary (Bertella) Mummert in Roseland, Kansas. She married Samuel E. "Sam" Jones on August 10, 1956, in Columbus, Kansas.
She worked for the Dept. of Commerce (Bureau of Census) for 24 1/2 years, then New Horizon for 7 years.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Cathy Parsons (Bill) of West Mineral, Kansas, Susan Crowley (Willie) of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Karen Scott of Scammon, Kansas; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Joyce Blackburn (John) of Boonville, Indiana, and nephew, Greg Burgar of West Baden, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Samuel E. "Sam" Jones, and her son-in-law, Stan Scott.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6th (her birthday), from 6pm to 7:30pm at Brenner Mortuary. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 2pm at Hosey Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jim Sukraw officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary 114 E. 4th St. Pittsburg, KS 66272.
