Michael Murray Obituary

With a heavy heart, the family of Michael Everett Murray announces his passing on December 10, 2024.

A loving husband and father of two, Michael was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 10, 1947. After high school, Michael enlisted in the Army, defended his country faithfully, serving three years of military service and obtaining the rank of SP5, receiving The National Defense Service Medal as well as other awards and citations.

For thirty years, Michael worked for the family business, Advanced Mobile home Systems. But it was his service to his family that he will always be remembered for. With a sometimes stern and quiet disposition, Michael always put the wellbeing of his wife and children first, expressing his love through actions and gestures in leu of words.

Michael also had the uncanny ability to become proficient at anything he put his mind to. From honing his carpentry skills to obtaining his contractor’s license. From becoming a pilot and certified diver to beating the odds at blackjack or constantly improving his golf game, he always took to a new challenge, many times in the company of family and friends.

Michael is survived by his wonderful wife of 54 years, Lorna (Kipper) Murray, and his children, Shannon Sutherland, and Derek Murray, as well as a grandson, Zachary Murray. His is also survived by his brothers, Leo, Patrick, Thomas and Charlie and a sister, Anne Williams.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Eneas and Marie Murray as well as brothers, Donald and John and a sister, Mary.

Rest in peace dad. You will be so greatly missed, yet never forgotten. We love you.
