Patricia Ann (Loveland) Potusek

Patricia Ann Potusek, 82, of Cherokee, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at her home.

She was born February 3, 1943, to Glen and Esther (Bolick) Loveland in Independence, Missouri. The family moved to the Cherokee area, where Pat graduated from Crawford County Community High School in 1960. Following graduation, she attended cosmetology school.

On May 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to William Michael “Mike” Potusek at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Cherokee, Kansas.

Mrs. Potusek worked at the Courthouse in Girard.

Membership was held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg. In recent years, she had attended St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon. Pat was faithful to the Tuesday morning Rosary group at St. Mary’s; the Bargain Corner; and serving on the St. Mary’s Funeral Dinner Committee; CCCHS School Reunion; She loved the Royals and Chiefs. She was a great homemaker and loved having family dinners, making homemade noodles and pies! Being a Mimi to her grandkids and great-grandkids became what she lived for. Many others were benefited from her caring nature, especially family members.

Survivors include her husband, Mike of the home; a daughter, Michelle Leone (Mike) of Kansas City, Missouri; a son, Michael Ray Potusek (Connie) of Pittsburg; a brother, Robert Loveland of Pittsburg; four grandchildren, Julie Platt (Andrew), Jessica Fogle (Cody) Paige Potusek, and John Potusek; and four great-grandchildren, Olive Platt, Caden Fogle, Cash Fogle, and Crew Fogle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen Loveland and Esther Fliss.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday (Aug. 1) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Chris Martin and Fr. Mike Simone as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in the Cherokee Cemetery. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Thursday (July 31) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial be given to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund and/or St. Jude’s. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS  66762. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
