Patsy Loette Peterson, 92, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on February 28, 2024, at Baptist Health Center in Ft Smith, AR.
Pat was born on September 19, 1931, to William Connie and Pauline (May) Darden in Loraine, Texas. Pat was born and raised in Colorado City, TX, and attended schools there. She moved to Pittsburg, KS, in 1951. On February 24, 1951, she was united in marriage to Emery (Don) Saker, they later divorced. She then married John E. Peterson in Pittsburg, KS. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1995.
Pat first and foremost a homemaker, raising three children and making the house a home. She was an excellent seamstress, loved music, especially country and gospel. She later worked at J.C. Penny's, Montgomery Ward, and Walmart. She also loved flowers and working in her garden.
She was a member of Countryside Christian Church since 1968. Other memberships include New Beginning's, Retired Telephone Operators Group, AARP, Christian Woman's Club, and Four F's.
She is survived by a two sons, Gary G. Saker of Mapelton, KS, and Don Richard Saker of Girard, KS; a daughter Sawannah Saker Lewis of Vian, OK; two brothers, Walt Darden and Ken Darden; a sister, Betty Bevis; three grandaughters, Misty Scoggins, Jessica Marlow, Brandi Saker; two grandsons, Dusty Saker and Jordan Saker and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Wayne Darden, Dink Darden, Eddie Darden, and two sisters; Ila Brown and Paula Neill.
A Funeral services will be on Monday March 4, 2024 at the Countryside Christian Church with Dan Muter and Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, KS. Memorial donations can be made to PSI (Patient Services, Inc.) and/or Leukemia Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
