Polly Allmon, 94, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away at 3:49 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 with her daughter by her side at the Lenoir Woods Lutheran Senior Services in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born May 5, 1927 at Curranville, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Eva R. (Wolf) Beauchamp. She graduated from Pittsburg High School and attended Pittsburg State University.
On August 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Dr. Harry Bernerd “Bernie” Allmon at the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2007.
Mrs. Allmon was a homemaker.
Membership was held in the First United Methodist Church; PEO, Christian Women’s Club, Bible Study Club, and Beta Sigma Phi. Mrs. Allmon volunteered for numerous area service clubs.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Nevels and her husband, Eric of Ashland, Missouri; a brother, Joe Beauchamp and a sister, Mary Deill both of Pittsburg; two grandsons, Steven Nevels (Brittani) and Dustin Nevels; and two great-granddaughters, Kennedy and Madison and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Andy and Jeffrey, a brother, Frank Beauchamp, and three sisters, Frances Jones, Barbara Jones, and Reta Beauchamp.
The family will receive friends from 10:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday (May 13) at Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, Kansas, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Christine Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Wesley House, and can be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
