Steven "Apple" Keith Wuerdeman, 66, of Franklin, KS, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 14, 1954, the son of Vernon L. and Patricia (Plumlee) Wuerdeman.
Mr. Wuerdeman worked as a millwright at many different power plants in many states before his retirement.
Membership was held in the Zion Lutheran Church, Pittsburg. He also belonged to the Millwright Union. He helped many people and loved making others laugh and smile.
Mr. Wuerdeman is survived by his mother, Pat of Pittsburg, brother, Ron Wuerdeman of Girard, and two nephews, Nick and Justin Wuerdeman.
He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon.
A service for Mr. Wuerdeman is set for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Pittsburg with Reverend Theodore Cook officiating. The service will be live streamed through Mr. Wuerdeman's obituary page on the Brenner Mortuary web page. Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to the Zion Lutheran Church.
