Terre Lynne (Kirk) Knoll

Terre Lynne Knoll, 79, of Pittsburg, passed away at 4:09 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital.

She was born October 27, 1942 in Pittsburg, the daughter of Merlin Ira “Tub” and Margaret “Maggie” Mae (Brooksbank) Kirk. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1960.

Survivors include two sons, Matt Knoll and his wife Shelia Knoll of Raleigh, North Carolina and Kirk Knoll and his partner Amanda Collins of Fairfax, Virginia. Mrs. Knoll was proud of her college-aged grandchildren. Cooper Knoll attends Old Dominion University, Abbey Knoll attends Penn State University, Karch Knoll attends Grinnell College, Erik Knoll attends Davidson College, Megan Bishop attends UNC-Chapel Hill, Kate Bishop attends the University of Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Knoll valued the tight community of Pittsburg. She was known by all that knew her as being kind, caring, accepting, encouraging, clever, wise, eccentric, and unique in every manner of the word. She is unforgettable. Mrs. Knoll was, as she would have said, an old soul. She was a passionate and unwavering friend, mother, and grandmother.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Brenner Mortuary, with J.T. Knoll officiating. A visitation will begin at 10 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to the Pittsburg High School Class of 1960. Mrs. Knoll valued the lifelong friendships with her classmates and held them all close to her heart. She would want her friends and classmates to be able to maintain their tight bond in any way she could.
