Vicki Lou Palmer, 81, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on January 04, 2024, at her home in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Vicki was born on January 31, 1942, adopted by Leo and Lavon Reba Boisdrenghien in Pittsburg, Kansas. She married Ira William Palmer on December 23, 1961, in Pittsburg, KS. He survives of the home. She attended Pittsburg Schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1960. She attended Phillips University in Enid, OK for one year with a music major. Vicki was a homemaker and enjoyed mothering her daughter Lorri with involvement in teaching bible school, scouting and endless hours of transportation to the ballet school. She was a tremendous cook and her pies were second to none with cherry being the absolute best. Anything she attempted was a success.
Memberships include, First Christian Church, past president of Kiwanis Club, Order of Eastern Star, Progressive Study Club, and P.EO. She was recently converted to Catholicism at bedside with Father Chris Rumback receiving the Holy Sacraments in the church. This was always her life's dream.
She is survived by her husband Ira William Palmer of Pittsburg, KS; one daughter, Dr. Lorri Jean Darrow and her husband, Lawrence of Springfield, MO; and one grandson, Ira Michael Darrow and his wife, Taylor of Springfield, MO; three great grandchildren, Roman Darrow, Lukka Darrow, and Sage Darrow.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lavon Reba Boisdrenghien.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:30 at Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, KS. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday January 7, 2024, at the Brenner Mortuary with Father Chris Rumback officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Pittsburg State University Music Department. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
