Wanda "Sue" (Garner) Butts

Sue Butts, 82, of Pittsburg, passed away 7:07 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Solace House of the Ozarks in Joplin, Missouri.

She was born October 6, 1940 at Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Boyd and Marjorie May (Watson) Garner. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1958.

On March 6, 1960, she was united in marriage to L.D. Butts. He preceded her in death.

Following high school, Sue worked for Crowell Drug Store, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Pitsco, JC Penney and Edward Jones Investments. She retired in 1999.

Membership was held in the First Church of the Nazarene in Pittsburg.

Survivors include a son, Travis Butts and his wife, Joy of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren, Clint (Tiffany) Butts, Kyle (Melissa) Butts, Autumn (Kevin) Patterson, Davonte (Brooke) Loftin, and Heaven Hall; great-grandchildren, Hoyt, Brelynn, Keiara, Bailey, Brady, Braydon, Tyler, Kayden, Lillian, and Hezekiah; A sister, Judy Boore and her husband, Marvin of Girard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Robert Garner.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jim Sukraw officiating. Friends may sign the register book at the Brenner Mortuary on Friday, March 31.  Please consider making a donation to First Church of the Nazarene.
