Wanda M. (Russell) Delmez

Wanda M. Delmez, 97, of Pittsburg, passed away at 6:25 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Via Christi Village, Pittsburg.

            She was born May 1, 1924, at Fairview, MO, the daughter of Milton and Lillian (DePriest) Russell.

            On June 1, 1942, she was united in marriage to Rene Delmez at Girard, KS.  He preceded her in death on February 28, 2001.

            Mrs. Delmez was a homemaker.  Membership was held in the First Christian Church, Pittsburg.  She was also a former Girl Scout Leader.

            She is survived by two daughters, Diana Michie (Terry) of Spring Hill, KS, and Kathy Dixon (Charlie) of Wichita, KS, one daughter-in-law, Gerry Delmez of Joplin, MO, 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

            In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steven Delmez, and one sister, Bessie Teagarden.

            A service for Mrs. Delmez is set for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the First Christian Church, Pittsburg, with Reverend Dustin Morris officiating.  The service will be live streamed through Mrs. Delmez's obituary page at www.brennermortuary.com.  Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., prior to the service at the church.  The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Hospice and/or First Christian Church.  Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS  66762.  Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
