William L. Patton, 20, longtime Pittsburg resident but recently of Joplin Missouri, passed away on March 16, 2022, in Joplin, Missouri. William was born on September 14, 2001 to William and Mariea Lee Ann (Munger) Patton in Parsons, Kansas. He attended Pittsburg and Girard area schools and Pittsburg High School. William participated in a variety of activities growing up, including karate, Football, Basketball, Wrestling and Baseball. He also enjoyed riding horses as a young boy and used to attend shodeos with his aunt. As an adult William enjoyed spending time at his lake house and attending sporting events with family and friends. He recently was starting his own business and had plans to be up and running this spring, a goal he'd had for a while.
He is survived by his parents, Mariea Lee Ann Patton of Pittsburg and William Dean Patton of Frontenac; two sisters, Frances Jean of Colorado and Daisy Patton of Frontenac; nephew's, Lancealot Gideon, Rainger Gideon both of Colorado and Marcus Lane of Grove, Oklahoma; niece, Wensley Gideon of Colorado; uncle, James Munger and aunt, Melissa, uncle, Tim Munger and Rebecca Munger, all of Pittsburg; uncle, Steve Munger of Vinita, Oklahoma and grandmother, Ethella Jean of Grove, Oklahoma; aunt, Angela Weir and Albert Weir of Mulberry and many many cousins. Friends that meant as much as family, Mekala Berger, Will Totman, Charley Hale, Jasper Fields, Diego Cornelio, Treveon Palmer, and the endless list of others. We know there are so many more than what we've listed here. William was very loved, and well-liked by nearly all he met. He is preceded in death by numerous grandparents on both sides, his cousin Trenton Lee Munger, cousin Chasity Scholes, cousin Cody Sluder and Uncle Randy Patton. As well as various close friends who left this world too soon.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday (March 22) at Brenner Mortuary. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday March 23rd at 11 am at the Living Faith Church on highway 47 near Girard. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St. Pittsburg, KS.
