William Harold Perkins, 78, of Pittsburg, passed away at 9:01 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Gran Villas.
He was born June 30, 1945 at Kansas City, Missouri to William and Anna (Stoneman) Perkins. He graduated from Republic High School.,
Mr. Perkins loved to drive and was a bus driver for Continental Trailways for many years. He then drove a school bus for public schools and HeadStart. On the side, he was also a taxi cab driver.
Mr. Perkins served during the Vietnam war in the for a short time, before being honorably discharged.
On August 11, 2007, he was united in marriage to Shirley Moss at Branson, MO. She survives at the family house.
Membership was held in the South Broadway Baptist Church; Gideons, and formerly of the American Legion and the Hamm Operator, hosting a podcast “The Net” on Wednesday nights.
In addition to his wife, Shirley Perkins, of the home, a brother, Randy Perkins of Marionville, MO; a sister, Millie Susan of Republic, MO.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday (May 23) at Brenner Mortuary, followed by a graveside memorial service that will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday (May 23) at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Johnie Adkins officiating. The family suggests memorial be given to Hospice Compassus. These may be left in the care of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.
