Wilma Grotheer Easter Obituary

Wilma L. (Richwine) Grotheer Easter, 89, of Pittsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, April 7, 2021 at her residence.

She was born January 19, 1932 at Pittsburg, the daughter of Raymond and Debbie (Campbell) Richwine. She graduated from College High School.

She was united in marriage in January 1951 to Marvin “Pat” George Grotheer in Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1981. On November 20, 1984, she married William “Ed” Easter. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2007.

Mrs. Easter worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone.

Membership was held in the First Church of the Nazarene. She loved to read, take long walks and have coffee with friends. When she was younger, she enjoyed sewing and canning and was always proud of delivering a baby calf on the farm.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin “Neil” Grotheer and his wife Doris of Asbury, Missouri and Mark Duane Grotheer and his wife, Shari of Stockton, Missouri; a daughter, Julie Elaine McClure and her husband, Alan of Pittsburg; a step-son, Chris Easter and his wife (Tina) of Arcadia, Kansas; four grandsons, Bryan McClure (Kristen), Ethan Grotheer (Sarah), Collin Grotheer and Andrew Grotheer (Laci); two granddaughters, Rachel Grotheer and Michelle McClure; two step-grandchildren, Kale Easter and Eric Easter and one great-grandson, Zeke. She is also survived by her walking and coffee buddy and friend, Katie Jo Bolt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Jackie Meadows and Madaline Shurley.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (April 12th) at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Kyle Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. The funeral services will be live streamed through www.brennermortuary.com on Mrs. Easter’s obituary page. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brenner Mortuary to sign the register.  The family suggests memorials be given to the First Church of the Nazarene. In respect for the family, we are asking everyone to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
